Do You Know These Snorers?

Napoleon Bonaparte, for example, was a loud snorer with some of the typical characteristics shared by many snorers.  That is, he was obese, short, had a thick neck and was known to fall asleep anywhere, anytime, no matter the occasion.

Winston Churchill, too, was a snorer and he, too, was overweight, loved to drink and smoked cigars – typical predictors of snoring.  Churchill was known for his midday naps.  Still, he lived to be ninety.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt suffered from hypertension and sleep apnea, both of which are known causes of snoring.  He, too, smoked and was known to snore.

Teddy Roosevelt not only was a snorer, but a gusto snorer.  Once, when he was in the hospital, the other patients complained about his loud snoring.  He was overweight, especially later in life, which may have contributed to his early death at sixty.

Queen Victoria was barely five feet tall with a forty-six inch waist.  An insomniac, she often fell asleep in the middle of the day and had to be kept awake.  She, too, was a snorer.

Other celebrity snorers include Shaquille O’Neal, David Arquette, Frank Gifford and Michael Douglas, to name a few.

Of course, this is only a short list of the many famous people who snored or celebrities who snore.  So, if you happen to be a snorer, know that you are in good company, as clearly there are many celebrity snorers.  Luckily, today we know a lot more about snoring and many ways to treat it.
